No there is noway to check it with out splittting it , and if the person that did it is worthe anything then he should have drilled the nut and installed a 1/8 inch roll pin and if the counter shaft was replaced it should be the new style that has a left hand nut . But hey not everybody stays up on the updates , myself i always hate a come back and that is why it always took me a littel longer to do a job because i made sure that everything was done wright the first time.
