I'm in agreement with Hugh, in the post below! I have a model 56 IH 4-row planter that we usually pulled with an M. From time to time it did get hitched to our '43 H. The planter had a Midwest harrow mounted on the tongue and connected to the front port of the Lift-all system. The planter was connected to the rear (delayed) port of the hydraulics. The M would lift the planter easily at idling speed with a 3" cylinder on the planter, even when loaded with dry fertilizer. The H had to be at about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle to do the same. With a 4' cylinder on the planter, the H lifted it easily. Even when loaded, the H would pull the planter in 3rd gear with the harrow down. With the harrow up, 4th gear was okay.
