Can't direct drive a hyd pump off the front of the crankshaft on an M as the upper bolster pivot shaft is in the way. (That's why the hand crank shaft is mounted at an angle to the left of the tractor centerline.) Now someone on this board recently posted photos of a live installed a pump on an H. He located the pump beneath the crankshaft and drove it via a timing (toothed) belt from an auxiliary timing belt pulley installed on the crankshaft. Did a nice job with it, but it looked like it required a lot of machine work. A better plan would be to find/install an aftermarket "live" (distributor drive) pump kit for your M.
