Probably fifty years and better ago a friend invited me and a companion to fish his small lake. We heard a bull trumpeting off aways on the other side of a fence, so felt safe, set up, began fishing, when one big critter came tromping down the toe-path. Well, up a tree we got while that big bull proceeded to tromp on all our gear. We finally out waited him and decided to cross over the fence to the other end of the lake. That's when I learned that bulls were darn good swimmers. That critter swam right around the perimiter of the fence line, over top of it, and run us up a tree. We got there at day light and climbed down out of the trees at dark. "TU"
