Last evening I had my insurance agent at my house and we reviewed the farm policy. It was out dated and I found that much of what I had covered was under-insured. We increased the values of the dwelling, barn and sheds. I also added 2 Farmall H's a B250 and my Farmall M that I thought was on the policy but wasn't. I was curious how everyone insured their toys and collections. Mine is through a farmers Mutual Insurance that is for the farmers of the township and has been there since pioneer days. My Dad insured with them and so have I since 1932. I wasn't asked for serial numbers for the items I listed and thought maybe they ought to have that info. Ill be paying around $1000 for my farm buildings, tractors and machinery, cattle and 2 million liability for items such as chemical spill. Also a million in personal liability for anything I might do connected to the farm..ie hit a guy wire on a pole with the cultivator and the neighbours chickens all suffocate because there is no power..Just curious as a small farm operator, I'm sure some have enormous insurance bills. How do you non farmers insure your tractors? Mike in Exeter Ontario
