Industrial forklifts usually weigh and one half times their rated load. Tilt cylinders are vital if you will be picking up logs or barrels on their side or anything round. If your load starts to roll off the tynes, it may lift the front end and shortly thereafter drop it. I suspect that your torque tube will be history at that point. I would guess 500 lbs would be a safe load for an A but it all depends on how close the load center is to your rear axel centerline. I have a 3000 lb tilting mast on my 650D and it works well. It is used mostly with a hydraulic utility pole auger. Hydraulic power comes from the PTO.
