The factory was originally built by Milwaukee Harvester Company, and was a part of the merger in 1902. Last IH operations there were 1971 or 2, by which time it was mainly a foundry. Last tractors assembled were the -9 series, which were transferred to Melrose Park in 1948. The factory is located on the south side of the main Soo Line rail yard, just east of the park that the Mitchell Park Domes are in. Rough neighborhood apparently. Several of the major buildings are still standing, but some have been torn down.
