Be sure that the steering worm and vertical bolster is not dragging due to wear, the Char-Lynn was an improvement but not perfect either, We used to add them new to IH tractors such as yours, under heavy loads it will just lock up ,its just how they are. As far as leaks the unit just has standard O-rings inside for seal, however you can still get parts from Force-America.
