You should have light switch positions: off, dim, bright. You may need a new resistor on the switch for the dim setting. The switch is just like the one found the Hs and Ms. Since your tractor had a generator, the light swith may have been also used as a control for charging the battery. I think it had one or two more positions for low charge and high charge. But it you have an alternator on it now, those features are not available because the alternator controls the charging of the battery automatically.
