On page 147 of Wendel's "150 Years of International Harvester" is a photo of a Badger shovel with a McCormick power unit. Apparently, IH sold engines to several different shovel manufacturers back in the thirties. Wardner - You are right, it takes a lot of practice. Also, if a cable machine has been sitting, it takes a long time for the clutches and brakes to get worked in again. It can make the best operator look like a beginner. Once the rust has worked out of the machine (and the operator), they are a lot of fun to operate. Where is your Bay City located?
