The 826 was built after the 756 was discontinued. It had the same frame and dimensions as the 756, with a 358 german diesel compared to the 310 german diesel in the 756. The 826 was rated at about 90 pto hp. IH made the 826 and the 1026 in a hydro to give farmers a choice in size and hp. The 1026 was available only in hydro as they already had a large hp gear tractor, the 1456. Both which were powered by the same 407 diesel.
