Jim- Good point. When I started my '43 H after it had been setting for >10 yrs, it blew sparks out the straight pipe for a few minutes! Since it was a hot August day, I was concerned. Luckily, no grass fires. I have heard many stories about hot exhaust pipes on grain trucks really spoiling the wheat harvest.
