I agree with Vern , also listen to the starter engagement ...nice and smooth is good , noisey is $100 cheaper in purchasing price. Check out the front axle where the pivot is,there should be NO WELDS in this area ! DO NOT give more than $2,500 for an "excelent" tractor. S/A's here go for around $1,500...$2,300 with a piece of equiptment or two. Check out the serial # listing here and take a copy of it with you to determine if in fact it is a S/A and not an A. Six volt is original, not 12. There are a lot more things ,but you shouldn't be "impressed" by a shiny paint job alone. Let your concious be your guide and not your Eyes,Get a Good feeling for the seller.... there's usally a reason for getting rid of a collector piece, find out his !! Most people who own one are honest but then there are a few.... Good hunting, Mark
