Here is what happened to me with my H. I did everything listed above and it still would not help the idle on my H. By adjusting the timing I could get it to run OK at low speed but then it diden't run good at high speed or the other way around by adjusting the timing for high speed. My H had Fire Creator pistions when I bought the tractor so I never suspected that it would have a low compression head on it! At a tractor show I put the H on a dino and it was only putting out the power of a standard H so I pulled the valve cover off and checked the casting numbers on the head and found it to be a low compression head. I replaced the head with a head from a Farmall 300 and now the H runs like a fine Swiss watch!!
