Wait a minute, does the M&W pump bolt to the timing cover or to the distributor drive spacer? Are there 2 or 4 bolts holding the pump on? I've seen pumps that go where the distributor was and then the dist bolts on behind the pump. Either way, there is nothing internal to hold the pump on, just the bolts. As for using the PTO with PTO pump in place, my machine shop makes a stub shaft that goes into the back of the pump and expands to give you a PTO with the pump in place, we use one on our 1256 to run the feed wagon every day. Costs $32.
