Referring to the parts book that I have dated 1960; not only were 42's available for the rear, but so were 19's for the front. This tractor has 15's on the front and still sits a little nose high. The same family owned it forever but the original owner is gone. The axle is not a welded-up unit. It appears that extenders for the spindle carriers are a seperate piece that is a forging. I have not removed a spindle for inspection but both spindle shafts protrude above the arm 1/2" exactly the same. All the parts have the same amount of old grease and rust indicating they probably have been this way since day one. This tractor came from southern Ca. vegitable growing country.
