I am just replacing the water pump on my Farmall H. I was able to get a used one, but the tractor has been broken down for half a year now because of it. There is no way i would spend the almost $300 the local shop told me it would cost for a rebuilt pump. I finally found a good used one, but then I had to order the gasket. That took six weeks. Then I needed hoses, another month, then another part, and another month, etc etc... I will never order from this local shop again. So, I finally got the tractor in the garage, and was all ready to replace the pump, and I find out that there are two small springs that go between the fan and the cast iron piece on the end of the pump shaft. I went to a local hardware store to look for some generic springs, they didn't have anything to fit. I planned to go to the "city", only to find that I have lost the broken springs. Arrrgggghhhhhhhhhhh........ Can anyone tell me the proper diameter and length of these springs? I think I can take a good guess at the spring tension. I dont think this is real critical. I need the tractor, because if we get a heavy snow, that is my only way out of my 1/2 mile long driveway, and honestly, enough is enough, and there is no way I am going to wait another month or two to get them from the local shop, or mail order them. Can anyone help please !!!! Thanks George
