You really need that clutch. It sits just to the left and back a little from the seat. It has a thro over mechanism to engage the pto shaft. I priced new parts from IH and it amounted to a couple hundred bucks. I found out that I didn't need to rebuild the clutch and it has worked for more years than I can remember and I use this cub a lot to mow grass. But again you need that clutch. good luck
