Haas's comment on transport speed is certainly valid. I own both a Cub and an A, and if you have to go any distance at all, the Cub isn't the best bet. I have a belly mower on my Cub, and occasionally take it to my neighbor's about a half a mile away to mow his lawn (and to watch his envious stares!) and it seems to take forever to get there. However, the Cub would make a perfect tractor for what you want to do--any tractor that sold 100,000+ units had to be doing something right! The fact that a very significant portion of these are still going strong is further testimony to the ruggedness of the design. If you can pick this tractor up for anything south of a couple grand, it's a steal, provided it's in decent working (not show-ready) order. You'll really like the hydraulics on the Cub versus the "armstrong" lift usually used on Farmall A's.
