Since my original post last evening, I have had a couple of e-mail asking how much alcohol to use. Probably about a cup to 50 gallons. Alcohol is great for emergency use also, I carry a quart in my vehicles always. On a fuel problem it will work quickly. windshield washer frozen, replace the alcohol, it just evaporated. Can't wait for windows to clear put on some alcohol, better than fooling with those scrapers. I have Buick LeSabre, screen on air intake for heater will plug with snow and ice, you brush it out with mittens on, makes it worse. Buick will not throw heat if it can't get air, pour some alcohol across the screen. It is in fact what the airline industry uses for de-iceing. Locks, door seals, etc., just don't smoke during application. It dosen't do much to warm your fingers though.
