The wiring is very bad. Lots of bare wire. Someone put a piece of garden hose around the battery cable where it touched the frame to keep it from shorting. It won't be restarted now until I rewire it. I'm keeping it 6 volt though. As long as you use heavier gauge wire with good connections 6 volt systems work great. I will change out the generator for a 6 volt alternator though.
