Chances are the engine has been rebuilt in the last 58 years and had hardened seats put in the head. I don't use lead substitute in anything, waste of money in my opinion. We run a F12, F14, (12 and 14 definitaly do NOT have hard seats) SMTA, A (I know the A doesn't have hard seats), and my H (H has hardened seats for sure), never had a problem.

However, if you are going to pull the engine hard (plowing, heavy disking, etc.) you might want the insurance of a substitute. But for parades, mowing, raking, loader work, etc. I wouldn't worry.
