Without getting into a ton of story, or heated debate, my dad bought, used, and kept a ford 8n alive for nearly 12 years. When it came time, Pops sold the rascal for a decent price, problems were told up-front (due to a tell-all son). Since then, he needed a tractor for wood hauling, and possibly rough mowing (not brushing), and I helped load up a freshly unhitched-from-the-farm Super C, fenders and cultivators. We barely made it back home (35 miles) due a bad trailer bearing. Got the old girl home and now I'm not allowed to touch her. My dad's pride and workhorse, seeing he's retired. I helped out where I could advise my Pops, but, he's my pops, and got his own way of doing things. I just need to know, what kind of lubricants go where, how much, and what to look out for. Keep in mind, my dad's a proud man, but not ignorant. He loves his tractor, and I'm pushing him to bring the old girl to parade ready status. Really of concern is that we haven't drained the hydaulics touch-lift nor the rear end. By the way, Dad just loves watching folks figure out how to check the oil level....using the hi-lo oil valves instead of a dipstick.
