You can go to walmart and buy a big bottle of lead sub. for a whole lot less than a valve job. You would be very foolish not to use it . Pretty cheap insurance! Now octane has nothing to do with hammering valves because of no lead what octane has to do with is called preignition meaning exploding instead of burning. Otherwise all we would have to do is to retard the timing to stop it. Please do not listen to all the "instant experts" the only way tractors lasted this long was Not to be penny wise and pound foolish. Maybe I seem to nasty about this but Misinformation is worse than no information. So it is your tractor but all my farmalls use it and they run great.For parades or plowing.
