Here's an interesting link to some discussion of the conversion from leaded gas to lead-free gas over in England, which didn't convert over to unleaded gas until three years ago (2000). The article is written by a chemist and discusses the effects of the change on vintage automobiles. For those on both sides of the argument a couple pages back, (lead substitute vs. no additive) this will make a good read. The article is British so it reads a little wierd for Yankees like me (lots of talk about "two star petrol"...whatever that is). As far as the final definitive answer...well, you're going to have to read the article (it comes in three parts). Not trying to stir things up...just want to have a discussion, since this is a 'discussion forum,' after all. Dave
