I believe the 560 has a glow plug starting system. With the introduction of the 560, IH went away from the gasoline starting system. On the gas start diesels, there is a carburetor. There is a third valve in the head that goes to a chamber in the head. The chamber contains the spark plug. When you are in gas mode, butterflys in the manifold direct air through the carburetor, the valves to the chambers in the head are opened (reducing the compression ratio for gasoline operation), the ignition is turned on and the carburetor float is released to allow gas to flow. IN diesel mode, chamber valves are closed, carb float is locked up to stop gas flow, ignition is off, and the butterflys in the manifold are set so air does not pass through the carb.
