Six volt sytems work great providing connections are clean and tight, and the proper size battery cables are used.

Since a 6 volt system uses twice as many amps as a 12 volt system, the cables need to be about twice as big as 12 volt cables. I think about 2 or 3 gauge cables are used.

Also, a new battery does not always arrive with a full charge, so you may have to let it set on the charger for awhile.
