Opinions will probably vary alot. When I redone my plain H, I left all I.D. plates, muffler, exhaust manifold, front emblem, all rubber, all wires, all glass, distributor cap, battery, and cables unpainted. I painted the rims that silver whatever color. I painted the emblem background, p.t.o. shaft, axles, switches/nobs, and the lights (except for the lenses of coarse) black. Everything else red. This probably varied a little from factory but if I was doing it again, I would paint it the same way. Not sure if the letters or the background on emblem was painted. I would guess the p.t.o. shaft and axles were unpainted from factory. I am not sure how many items that I painted black was actually painted black from factory. In all reality, I am not certain on any of items left unpainted, or painted black as to the way it was from factory. I just think painted wires, painted hoses and so on makes a good paint job look tacky, even if it was released from factory that way. As far as the black goes, I just think it gives off a hint of a little more extensive color sheme than just the silver and red. It draws things out a little more to eye appeal and is why I painted a few items black that was probably actually red from factory. Come to think of it, I painted the gas cap black too, and just the rims silver (the clamps red) but the part of the clamp on the front wheel that is part of the rim, it is silver. I know this probably isn't from factory info like you are looking for, but if other people reply you will no doubt see some varied opinions. Just my 2 cents worth.

The Fordson F Ignition System - by Anthony West. A fellow restorer contacted me earlier this year asking for some help and advice on a model F that he was restoring. He had over a period of months spent a fair amount of his hard earned cash on replacement parts for the old "trembler" ignition. Sadly though all his efforts seemed to be a waste of time and money as he still couldn''t get the temperamental old thing to run correctly!! If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
