After looking at the picture of the tractor, the SN of 46368 means it is a 1949 model according to Guy Fay's data book (as you said). What is confusing to me is the casting picture indicating Dec 12 1949. I have a C that used to be white (definitely a 1950, 52824) with some castings going back to Sept 1949. This means there was a pile of castings and they weren't used in order of production, or that particular casting is not the original one. Since no one is absolutely positive of the actual serial #'s, this could be a white C, but the "L" on the casting cannot be used for ID as he says, it simply means the part was cast in Louisville. I live less than 200 miles from this tractor, if closer I would go look at it. If I wanted it (I don't) I wouldn't pay much for it in that condition.
