Of course, it it entirely your call, but why rebuild if it doesn't need it? Does it really matter when it was rebuilt last? If it runs well and you have carefully checked it out, save your money and put it to good use, like another tractor.

Do a compression test, run it hard and check operating temp., oil pressure, noises, leaks, etc., then decide if it really needs overhaul.

As you probably know, rebuilds are expensive and I agree with Hugh that once you start, you have to be prepared to go all the way.

I just finished an overhaul on a 1650 Oliver yesterday. $1800 in parts and $650 in machine work. It can get expensive in a hurry. Believe me, I wouldn't have done it if it had ran well.

It doesn't sound like you are going to ever subject the tractor to severe service, nor does it sound like you are depending on it for your living. I would take that into consideration if the engine checks out O.K.
