Located the problem with the A(finally!) Pulled tranny cover, inspected all gears and located a small piece of metal lodged between the teeth of the reverse gear! Swept the tranny cavity with magnets and pulled up a few more pieces of metal as well. They appear to be forging slag as there are no damaged teeth at all in the tranny. As to how this got into the teeth was easy to figure also. The super cold temps that we had here for 14 days made the tranny oil the thickness of molasses! Starting the tractor allowed this oil to sweep up the metal from the bottom of the tranny and bring it into the gear teeth. Enough said!
