okay now walk me throw this

i have to take off the carb and clean it up so after i disconect it what do i clean. the one post said the float and needle valve may be sticking. do the up draft carbs have floats? were do i find the stuff needed to clean or would i get by with buying a carb cleaner with bucket and soak basket?
