CCJ, When you say you can't get it to shift, does it grind? I would adjust the clutch to published specs and see what it does 1st, but,it sounds like at least your disc is in need of replacement. ...and yes it does require that it be split, but it's not a bad job at all on a 404. Whenever I go in, I spend the $$$$ and replace the pressure plate pilot bearing, and throwout bearing too...I hate going back in! If you don't have access to a clutch allignment tool, take your disc and pilot bearing to a machine shop and have them turn you a tool. It can be metal or plastic like Delron. Well worth the $$$ Pete
