What happens with the glow plug meter when you hold them in. I used to have a 560D and a couple of times I had bad battery conections, seemed run the glow plugs but when the two functions hit it was game over. Usually when this happened, next try and the glow plug meter would only partially register. I am not disagreeing with others, they may well be right, just looking at another possibility.
