Ive heard the same stories you have, so I guess its possible. Iv had F-20s and F-30s from 1965 till now. I got a 37 F-30 which will kick back from being too full of gas when i choke it while starting it, a 34 CC Case, and a 48 Cub that I bought the crank for just to have it. If you take your mag to a mag man and have him go through it, and you run it once a week or so, it 95% will not kick back. Id say 100% in my own mind, but as I hear I could get sued if u hurt yourself I say again that if the mag is in good shape, youve got a 95% chance it wont kick back.Im 56 now, I start all 3 tractors once a week, and have never had a broken arm or anything else, and I farm with mine, for whatever that tells you.
