I use both. Chain binders on the front, Straps on the back. Straps require a bit of knowledge regarding their attachment. Be sure they are not pinched or pulled over a sharp edge. Inspect them for frays or cuts. I like to use rigging with a strength equal to 5 times or more the weight of the tractor. This is to give me a bit of a safety factor in case of a sudden stop. Whichever you use, make them tight, drive down the road a few miles, them stop and tighten them again. You will be surprised at how loose they can get from the bumps and vibration.
