Well here goes,I just bought me a '51 M to restore.....We had a'48 and a '51 M bought new when I was a kid.....I don't know if the reflectors in these lights are chrome or stainless.....I am going to clean mine with SIMPLE GREEN that is a water base cleaner found in any cleaning supply dept.....I am a gun smith and my class teacher said it was the best cleaner he had ever used.....I think he is right....then I am going to use a name brand chrome cleaner....the rear light with the knob and red light was extra....as I rember(mine don't hsve it)It was a small black plastic knob,about 1/2" high and 1/2" around,with a small set screw in the side that screwed into the little shaft on the light........Have fun Don
