The reflector can be painted with chrome spray paint which you can find at the auto parts store. Worked great for me. The unpainted oval on inside is from original painting where it was held. If your rear light has the the red jewel light on the inside of the main light then the switch was most likely the black plastic knob. You can find replacements over the internet. Hope this helps with your project.
