Being somewhat involved in the trucking industry, I think you guys should check with your local jurisdiction as to what is allowed. Many states in the US and provinces in Canada are saying straps only. Others are saying it depends on commodity. I haul logs and that one is straps only, every where. Personally I believe both still have their place, and I believe loads can be secured safely with either. Just buy quality which ever way you go and quality is pricy in either. What comes into play here more than safety, is when that government bureauacrat stops you for a roadside check, he doean't want to make a decission. Your either right or wrong. That is how it goes with new laws these days. They must have two common features, keeping lawyers busy and bureauacrats from having to make a decission.
