After fall work I dropped the engine oil and removed the filters. Beneath the lst filter a metal chip, 7x9 mm, (brass alloy) was laying on a ledge of the filter base in the oil passage to the filter. I found the one piece only after sectionalizing both filters. I have asked our local Case/IHC shop for advise. They have offered possible chips from cam bearings, pin bushings, I added maybe a chip from brazing the oil supple tubing joints connecting to the pump. Anyway, I have owned the tractor for 12 years, it has 2900 hrs and runs very well, trouble free. Has any one had an experience with the T-D414 engine, or others with bushings/bearings chips? My intention is to put in the field this spring and wait for more evidence. I have run it about an hour and removed the filters, no evidence of particles of any size. Thanks for any experiences or thoughts. LAW/MN
