Well it was tractor exercise day here in Nova Scotia as well. I still think my six volt 50 year old tractor starts faster than any of the new stuff around. I actually got out for 2 separate runs. About a half-hour and several hours. There is a smallish lake behind my house about 25 ft. deep that doesn't see much flow through and the ice was 12"+. My dad suggested I build a ramp (out of snow) over a small (3ft) vertical drop so I could get down to the lake. To make a long story shorter I took my tractor down onto the lake no problem at all. Spinning doughnuts down on the ice was fun. The problem was there was no way that I could get back up my ramp. In the end I went round to a neighbours back yard and drove up there (after getting my Super A out of the holes in the ice) and back into my yard. Amazing how little traction is available. Now to improve the ramp. SAm in NS
