Here is how I fixed a couple of leaking Farmalls. Get a new gasket from youur IH dealer, and put it on over top of your old gasket. I tried the new gasket after removing the old and it still leaked. Then I put the new gasket in over top of the old and it worked great. Make sure the neck on the tank is not deformed. IH did make a tool to reshape the necks. Over-tightening the caps deforms the necks. Phlogiston
