#1 Do not change wile engine is running. #2 Remove oil filter base drain plug and allow to drain completely #3 Clean filter base to prvent dirt from dropping into the base. #4 unscrew and remove the retaining bolt. #5 Lift up and remove the case. #6 Remove old element. #7 Wipe out base and the case with a rag dampend with kerosene #8Install new filter as follows: (A) replace drain plug in filter base and install new element. (b) inspect the small metering hole at the treaded end of the oil retaining bolt and make sure it is not plugged. (c) make sure the gasket is in good condition. reinstall the cover. There are 2 sizes that fit a H depending on the year ( sn#) of your machine. NAPA has both sizes.
