Lots of things come to mind...got 3 chainsaws last summer that we found in a ditch by the road. They had grass growing around them and had been there for at least a couple of weeks. Took them home, changed fluids, cleaned carbs and they all started right up--one rides on the back of my 4-wheeler for clearing up camp roads, etc., the other two found homes with friends. I've also found numerous hand tools that probably got set on a pickup's tailgate and never removed. On a slightly stranger note, one of the locals here paid for his entire honeymoon with road-killed raccoon hides he collected during the honeymoon! Sounds like a "you know you're a redneck if..." joke, but it's true. This was about 25 years ago when coon pelts were going for $30-50 each, and it was worth taking the trouble to do. Still, the car had to be pretty ripe after a couple of days, even in late fall.
