Gary,being in thr process of restoring a 1949 cub I ran across this freeze plug problem about a mounth ago,that is exactly what that hole is for,it had a steel freeze plug in the hyd. case,I went to my locall NAPA store and got every size rubber expantion plug they had,told them what I intended to do with them,took them home,tried every one,found the one that fit,took the rest back.Been dealing at that same store for over 30 years.
