Thanks for all your input, guys. I installed the rings paying particular attention to notches and "up" sides, so I'm confident I did that part correctly. With regard to alternating the gap in the rings...I have original pistons with 3 compression rings near the top and 1 oil ring near the bottom. I alternated the top 3 compression ring gaps in thirds, not 180 degrees as was suggested. Also when I honed the cylinders, I made sure there were no areas that were not skimmed over, thus I think the cylinders are nice and even. I'll make arrangements to run her for a good 15-20 minutes this weekend. Hopefully things will work out, and I won't have to tear her apart again and re-adjust the ring gaps to 180. Does anybody think I should do it regardless? Thanks again for everybody's help! Doug
