After re-building engine in my Cub it did same as yours. Drove her around for about an hour then hitched up the Woods mower and went to work on a 7 acre hay field . By the time I finished she was purring like a kitten and and No Smoke whatsoever! Be sure and keep an eye on your oil level and for any other indications of leakage. Prior to the run in I also dumped contents of radiator and re-filled with fresh anti-freeze and water. The engine will run a bit on the hot side during break-in. Happy Tractoring!!!
