I'll go along with that Mike, but what is the butter for. I was selling potatoes in my roadside vegetable market. I had red potatoes, white, yukon gold and the old Nova Scotia blue. Those have blue flesh as well as skins. A lady caught sight of the blue potatoes and said," now where could I get some salt herring to go with the blue potatoes." Salt herring and blue potatoes is a favourite dish in NS. I replied," and some black rum." She came back, "what do I need the rum for." I said," If you drink enough rum you wont have to pick the bones out of the herring." Herring bones are quite fine and if you keep your mouth full, it is quite easy to chew them up and swallow them.
