Don't be afraid to use your TA, proper use never hurt them. Most of them were done in by improper adjustment or hydraulic oil. I put 60,000 hours on 4 Farmalls and only replaced 1 TA. Some of them I dare say were shifted as much as 100 times a day. As others said great shift when pulling gets heavy. They are also great for slowing down while turning on headlands.
