tWO YEARS AGO, YESTERDAY, Feb 16, the BIG windstorm hit here. It lasted less than five minutes total (it hit twice in a few minutes) The first time, brave soul that I am, I was under the counter by myself. By the time the second blast hit, I was trying to look cool (kind of difficult when your knees are knocking) , then I had to root someone else out of my part of the counter. It was something. We were out of power 6 days. My son was out 1 day and brought his generator over. I used it to keep my fridge and freezer going during the day, then moved it my wife's widowed sister next door for the night. After one night of flickering candles, etc., I took the battery out of the tractor, charge it in the daytime and hooked it up to anautomobile headlight bulb focused slightly toward the ceiling so it would reflect off the white. My wife and I then sat, one in front of the other to do our reading.
